A blocked drain never picks a convenient moment, and in a town where so many homes sit on large private plots, a backed-up gully or overflowing manhole is your problem to solve, not the water company’s. TrueFlow provides 24/7 drain unblocking across Ascot, from the Victorian terraces of South Ascot to the gated houses along the Windsor Great Park border.
We are based in Bracknell, a short run along the A329, so we aim to have an engineer with you within 60 minutes of your call. Every job is covered by our 6-month guarantee and we are fully insured.
Why drains block in Ascot
Ascot sits on the sandy Bagshot Formation, the free-draining heathland geology that gives the Thames Basin Heaths their character. Those acidic sands grow superb mature trees, which is exactly why plots around North Ascot, Sunninghill and the Great Park fringe are so heavily wooded. It is also why root ingress is one of the most common drain faults in the area: roots chase moisture into pipe joints, and on a big plot the private drain run between the house and the sewer can be 30 metres or more, giving them plenty of joints to attack.
Age is the other factor. South Ascot and Sunninghill grew rapidly after the railway arrived in 1856, and plenty of that late-Victorian housing still drains through original clay pipework. Over a century of ground movement leaves displaced joints and slight back-falls where wipes, grease and debris snag.
Finally, Ascot’s drinking water, supplied by South East Water, is classed as hard. Limescale builds up inside older pipes and binds with soap and fat, gradually narrowing the bore until one flush too many blocks it completely.
How we clear blocked drains
We start with drain rodding, from £80, which shifts most straightforward blockages in a single visit. Stubborn or repeat blockages get high-pressure water jetting at up to 4000psi, from £150, which strips roots, scale and compacted fat back to clean pipe rather than boring a temporary channel. Where a drain keeps blocking, a CCTV survey from £120 shows us the actual cause, whether that is root ingress, a collapsed section or a dropped joint.
Emergency call-outs start from £120. All prices include VAT, and the exact price is agreed with you before any work starts. No surprises on the invoice.
Ascot blocked drain FAQs
How quickly can you reach a blocked drain in Ascot?
We aim to be with you within 60 minutes, day or night. Coming from Bracknell along the A329, South Ascot, Ascot Heath, North Ascot and Sunninghill are all comfortably inside that window in normal traffic. During race meetings we allow extra time and route around the course.
Who is responsible for a long drain run on a large Ascot plot?
Everything within your boundary is normally yours, and on Ascot’s bigger plots that can be a surprisingly long stretch of pipe; Thames Water generally takes over where the drain leaves your land or joins a shared sewer. Our guide to who is responsible for a blocked drain explains the boundary rules in detail.
Do tree roots really cause that many blockages in Ascot?
Yes. Mature trees thriving in the free-draining sandy soil, long private runs and Victorian clay pipework are a perfect combination for root ingress. A CCTV survey pinpoints where roots are getting in, and jetting with a root-cutting head clears them without digging up the garden.
